Since I’ve started this little blogging adventure I’ve had some great suggestions for topic ideas. And I’ve heard that people like to see pictures so I’m working on figuring out how that works. Some of the things I’m working on are:
- The video diet – I’ll spill it all but I’ll give you heads up that it’s not very exciting and pretty much your good ‘ol clean eating plan.
- The regular day-to-day diet – which really isn’t what I’d call a diet
- Post-Partum Glamour (or I should say more like the lack thereof!)
- Supplements and the ones I’ve used.
- Hardcore training – Keep in mind that “hardcore” for me is relative to the fact that I work full time, have two small children and an amazing husband who helps me keep it all together.
- What I do when I have NO time to workout but need to workout.
- Some of my favorite Bible verses and how the grace of Christ is all I truly need.
- Different ways you can split up body parts for training whether it’s in a gym or doing workout videos.
That’s just some of the stuff I’m working on and if there’s anything else you want to know please tell me as writing truly is fun for me.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!

I work full time and in 3 weeks I will begin nursing school part time in the evenings and weekends. I have many FIRM rotations I have saved and would like to do (once I get some weight off) but it would be impossible for me to do the rotations with the same rest days. Has anyone done one just getting the workouts in but with different days off? Also, any weight loss hints would be appreciated.

Pam:
You can certainly continue to utilize your current rotations while changing up your rest days. In fact, I think it would be a good change and a way to add even more variety to what can otherwise become a program that becomes too routine. I would recommend that you look at your calendar 10 days to two weeks out and look at the best way to plug in your workouts and rest days based on that one window of time. I generally try to sketch out about 10 days of workouts and rest days at a time.
Decide how many days you can realistically work out (especially given all that you’re taking on right now! Makes me tired just reading about it!) and then look at the specific amount of time available for fitness. You may have to cut down on the number of days you actually have to workout, but perhaps you can devote a little bit more time when you do have it and design a rotation that will allow you to do longer workouts or combine some of the shorter ones for those days. Or on the flip side, maybe you know that you’ll be able to get in 30 minutes at best, so pick your workouts to fit that time frame.
And of course, if you’ve got less time you know I’m going to say “heavy up!!!” on those weights so that you’re sqeezing out every bit of effort as you go.
What Iwouldn’t recommend is over promising yourself what you can do. Be very realistic. When your workout time is a little more limited you have to pay even greater attention to nutrition, so make that a priority so that even if you’re cutting back temporarily on workouts as you go through this phase of your life, you’re still doing all that you can to support a healthy body.
Best of luck with nursing school and hang in there!!!!
